What we collect from producers

When you sign up as a producer on Broker Buckets, we collect your name, contact information, insurance producer license details, and the states and lines of authority you are licensed for. We use this to verify your eligibility to receive leads and to route leads to producers licensed to work them. If you quote or apply with a carrier through this marketplace, we also keep your writing-agent number with that carrier and send it to the carrier with each quote and application. When you enter a writing number, we ask that carrier to confirm it and keep what the carrier tells us about it (such as the name it holds for that number and whether that name and its email match yours), with the confirmation you ticked, so we can review that the number is yours.

Where consumer lead data comes from

Broker Buckets does not collect leads directly from consumers. Every lead a producer receives here was submitted by a consumer on one of our source properties, under a written authorization that consumer gave at the time. That authorization, and the source property's own privacy notice, govern what was collected about the consumer and what they agreed to. This page governs what we collect from producers using this marketplace, not what a consumer agreed to on the property where their information was submitted.

How a consumer's inquiry reaches you, and that you pay for it

Producers pay us for the leads they receive, and the consumer is told that before their inquiry moves. On the source property a consumer authorizes, in writing, that their request may be shared with one licensed insurance agent or agency on the agent list that property publishes. That property's terms of use and privacy policy, which the same consent accepts, tell the consumer the agent or agency may pay BK Benefits Consultants LLC a fee for it whether or not the consumer buys anything. Broker Buckets is the mechanism that carries out that authorized transfer and charges the receiving producer for it.

Outside that authorization, consumer information does not move. A lead is offered only to a producer who was on the list published on the day the consumer submitted it, who holds an active license for that product in that consumer's own state, and only while no do-not-contact or revocation request has been recorded against that consumer's contact details. The source property's privacy policy, which the consumer accepts with the same consent, says the agent who receives a request may not sell it or pass it on, except as needed to place the coverage the consumer asked for, and our terms of use prohibit it as well.

Information you enter about your clients

When you enter details about a client, such as the client's household members, for a business, its name and EIN, the employees and family members it asks about coverage for, and an employee's own phone number, email and address when you add them, doctors, prescriptions, income, the applications you record or submit, the plans you compare for each person, a carrier's health-check tier and membership level, and your notes, BK Benefits Consultants LLC stores them only to show them back to you, the producer who entered them, and to send a carrier what you ask us to send it. We do not sell or rent what you enter about a client, use it for marketing, use it to contact anyone, or share it with anyone other than the service providers that host this marketplace for us and the carriers you ask us to send it to. It never goes to another producer, including when a lead is taken back from you and offered to someone else.

When you open a carrier's quotes for a client, or submit an application to that carrier from the client's file, we send the carrier, on your behalf, what that request needs. A quote sends the details the carrier prices it on, such as each quoted person's birth date, sex, tobacco use and relationship to the client, the client's ZIP code and state, and your writing-agent number with the carrier. An application sends what you enter on its form, such as each applicant's name, birth date, sex, height, weight and tobacco use, their answers to the carrier's health questions, the client's address, email and phone number, the payment method you choose, with the bank account details when the premium is drafted from a bank account, and how and when the applicant signed. The carrier handles what it receives under its own privacy notice.

We do not store a carrier's quotes; they are held briefly in memory to show them to you. We never store an applicant's health answers, height and weight, or bank account details: they go to the carrier with the application and are not saved here. What we keep is a record of each application you submit: who it is for, the plan, the premium the carrier quoted, the coverage start date, the carrier's application number, policy number, status and other reference numbers for it, and which version of the carrier's authorization the applicant agreed to. Like everything else you enter, it is shown only to you.

What you entered for a lead you bought, including the records of the applications you submitted, is deleted when the lead is taken back from you or when you mark it as unreached. A lead with an application on file with a carrier is not taken back from you while it is on file, and deleting our records does not withdraw an application from the carrier, which keeps what it received. The marketing permissions a consumer gives on the source property where they submitted their request do not extend to anything you enter here.

Contacts you add yourself

When you add your own contacts, one at a time, as a referral or from a file, BK Benefits Consultants LLC stores each contact's name, phone number, email address and ZIP code, the name of whoever referred them if you enter it, and the notes and client details you add, only to show them back to you and to send a carrier what you ask us to send it, as for a client's details. We do not sell or rent your contacts, market to them, share them with another producer, add them to a marketing list or report them to an advertising platform.

You can remove a contact from your work deck and restore it, or erase it. Erasing deletes the contact's details and the client details, application records and notes you entered, and cannot be undone; it does not withdraw an application from a carrier. What stays is the record of the calls and outcomes you logged, without the contact's details, including any reason you typed when you closed it. When you mark a contact do not call, we keep a coded fingerprint of their phone number and email address, never the number or address itself, so they cannot be added to your list again. When a producer's access to this marketplace ends, the contacts they added are erased 90 days later.

What we do with your information

We use producer information to operate the marketplace: verifying licensure, routing leads, processing payments, and communicating with you about your account. We do not sell, rent or trade producer account information, and we do not disclose it for anyone else's marketing.

If you join the waiting list

When you join the waiting list we collect your name, email, home state and, if you give it, your phone number. We use your email to tell you about Broker Buckets and to send you offers we think you'll find useful. Your phone number is used only to reach you about your account. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Sponsored offers in our emails

We may include an advertiser's sponsored content in emails we send, and we may be paid for it. We always send the message and control what it says. The advertiser never receives our email list or anything identifying you individually, including whether you opened or clicked; they get aggregate totals only. Sponsored content is labeled as advertising.
